SO&SO is a Sydney-based drinks company dedicated to flavour and enjoyment. With collective backgrounds in food, wine and design, SO&SO set out to create delicious and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. Their belief in fermentation is the basis for experimentation with flavour, and by taking a modern approach to creating an ancient beverage. Studio Thomas Hatton worked in close collaboration with SO&SO to create the brand’s visual identity. The goal was to create an identity that is expressive and playful but also elevated and sophisticated at the same time. The contemporary approach to the identity uses a clean and bold wordmark, with an interchanging ‘&’ that represents the brands’ collective and collaborative nature. The identity uses a modular graphic device (semi-circle) and system that is adaptive and versatile to different formats and situations, whilst being instantly recognisable.
